So I got this idea off of Sarah Macon’s blog  which she stole from another blogger and so forth and so on.  I shall now jump on the bandwagon and join in the fun!  You should too.  Since I tend to write lengthy blogs and don’t write very regularly, this will give me a topic to write about each day…but I won’t get too long winded with it I promise!

DAY 1

Your Favorite Song…

Okay I said I wouldn’t get long winded but geez they give you a tough one for the first day.  Music is my life…how can I pick just one song? I honestly don’t know if I can do this.  How bout my top 10…  I have favorite songs in every genre and for every emotion or moment.  Songs come and go and take on new meaning and change.  There are songs that I can hear no matter what is going on and they make my day better.  There are songs I have loved forever and never get sick of… and songs I just discovered recently but feel I love them just as much as the old favorites.

I sat for almost an hour trying to debate this….the truth is I can’t pick just one Counting Crows or Indigo Girls song…it’s impossible.  There are also so many other amazing songs that jump out…I just compiled a short list.  I know I’m not following directions but then again…I was never very good at that anyway…

Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters – Elton John

Levon – Elton John

I Wish I Was a Girl – Counting Crows

A Murder of One – Counting Crows

Mrs. Potter’s Lullaby – Counting Crows

Saint Robinson In His Cadillac Dream – Counting Crows

You and Me of the 10,000 Wars – Indigo Girls

Love Will Come to You – Indigo Girls

My Home’s In Alabama – Alabama

Oh My Sweet Carolina – Ryan Adams

Life Goes On – Tupac

Maybe I’ll start picking a “song of the day” to share with you all since there’s so much music I love.

Oh…I’ll copy Sarah and share some lyrics…Indigo Girls …Love Will Come to You.  Just because they are so powerful and amazing…and SO true!

guess i wasn’t the best one to ask

me myself with my face pressed up against love’s glass

to see the shiny toy i’ve been hoping for the one i never can afford

the wide world spins and spits turmoil and the nations toil for peace

but the paws of fear upon your chest, only love can soothe that beast

and my words are paper tigers, no match for the predator of pain inside her

i say love will come to you

hoping just because i spoke the words that they’re true

as if I’ve offered up a crystal ball to look through

where there’s now one there will be two

i was born under the sign of cancer

like brushing cloth i smooth the wrinkles for an answer

i close my eyes and wish you fine (i’m always closing my eyes wishing i’m fine)

even though i know you’re not this time (even though i’m not this time)

i say love will come to you

hoping just because i spoke the words that they’re true

as if i’ve offered up a crystal ball to look through

where there’s now one there will be two

dodging your memories, a field of knives

always on the outside looking in on other’s lives

i say love will come to you

hoping just because i spoke the words that they’re true

as if i’ve offered up a crystal ball to look through

where there’s now one there will be two

and i wish her insight to battle love’s blindness

strength from the milk of human kindness

a safe place for all the pieces that scattered

learn to pretend there’s more than love that matters

I guess that’s it for day 1 of 30 Days of Blogging.  Night all!
